WPF funds programs in PNG run by Australian Doctors International, CARE, and ChildFund. These NGOs are accredited by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. These programs embrace:
Delivering appropriate contraceptive devices to women and couples and girls |
Training community leaders and couples about planning and equitable decision-making |
Training and mentoring Village Health Volunteers who educate and make referrals |
Conducting integrated maternal health outreach patrols in remote areas and delivering contraception |
Performing and training health care staff to perform non-scalpel vasectomies |
Delivering education promoting sexual and productive health rights and respectful, non-violent and equitable relationships to reduce gender-based violence |
Funding the development and delivery of curriculum modules for high school and out of school youth promoting sexual and reproductive health rights and respectful, non-violent relationships to reduce gender-based violence |
Public health education on family planning and sexual and reproductive health to rural community members - women and couples |
Providing onsite training to local health workers. |
